Hi! 👋🏻 I’m Denise

Hi Denise!

Where are you based?

Born and bred Pakistani - living it up in Melbourne, Australia

Here’s a photo of Melb’s CBD

Looks beautiful!

What’s Melbourne known for?

Hahaha

So, tell me about yourself

What got you into Sourcing?

Sure!

My story isn’t unique or new like many other recruiters

I fell into recruitment over 18ish years ago starting off in HR with no formal qualifications to back me

Oh I see, that’s a while!

Very quickly I realised, HR is not my cup of tea but interviewing, talking to candidates, really getting to know who they are as people is what sparked my curiosity to continue my part in recruitment

In 2006, I got my break into pure tech recruitment, hiring SAP professionals globally and I was in love with highs and lows that came with making that one hire

Where has that taken you now?

Well, fast forward to 2023, fortunately, or unfortunately, my role was made redundant and it reignited the fire in me to branch out and do something of my own

Also to create a lot more awareness in the Australian market on the coolest and latest techniques that I have been learning from those that I look up to and are well respected in the Sourcing community

Exciting!

Sounds like you learnt a lot over the years and gaining a great deal of experience on the way 📈

That’s for sure!

I have worked with some of the most well-known global and local brands like Zendesk, ANZ, Coles optimising to find the right capability, at the right time

Wow

Would you say you love what you do then?

I am obsessed with learning and my obsession for always wanting to know more and impart that knowledge back into the market, saw me certify myself as a Sourcing Leader and a Diversity and Sourcing Professional

And trust me, it won’t stop there

Sourcing is not just about finding a candidate or making that hire. It's everything within TA from start to finish and in between that ties into your wider growth plans.

Collectively, we can source smarter, not harder.
